VITEK (1986 - 2007)
added: 02-06-2008
The first time I had the chance to talk to Decapitated was at Inferno Fest in 2004. It was a great interview; the guys were so friendly and kind. Their set was awesome, as it was every time I saw Decapitated.
Even though I only knew them on a professional level, I was, as were all metal fans, devastated when I heard the news of the accident.
May Vitek rest in peace; no…may he be slamming the drums in Valhalla as greatly as he did in life.

Napalm Records
added: 10-08-2007
Napalm Records is proud to announce the signing of Scotland's very own ALESTORM. The quartet plays Scottish Pirate Metal by their own definition and musically resembles the great Battle Metal bands such as KORPIKLAANI or TURISAS, albeit with a unique touch and Scottish instrumentation. They currently find themselves in the studio recording their debut and recently completed a shoot with master photographer Steve Brown (TURISAS, BULLET FOR MY VALENTINE). Scene great Monozelle will design cover and layout. ALESTORM's debut is scheduled for a February 2008 release.
SVARTSOT is the next rising star in the Folk Metal heavens, as traditional Scandinavian sounds and instruments meet brutal, yet melodic Death Metal. Crushing mid-tempo tracks and catchy neck-breakers driven by heavy guitar riffs, deep vocals, and whipping drumming are refined with traditional sounding folk melodies. Powerfully produced by Jacob Hansen (TYR, HATESPHERE), SVARTSOT's debut delivers new hymns for Folk Metal's next generation. |

VARGATHRONE
(From Issue #5)
added: 02-06-2008
MySpace is a bounty for finding underground music. Other websites have tried, but somehow, they don’t do it near as well. One of the great metal acts I found was Vargathrone. Vargathrone is a one-man project started in Germany by Varganorth. It is dark, bleak and great black metal, and though he now lives in North Africa, where one does not usually associate with infernal music, he continues the dark plague... more>

HENRY LEE LUCAS AND OTTIS TOOLE
(From Issue #5)
added: 02-06-2008
Few people in American serial killer history make us shudder as much as these two. But legend mixes with fact, and the total of killings they were responsible for has been greatly exaggerated. Lucas could be responsible for the deaths of 3 to 300 people. No one is certain. Lucas himself once confessed to killing 3000 people, but this is a known hoax on his part. In fact, once he confessed he recanted his confession, so the totals will probably remain in the grave with him... more>

MERRIMACK
(From Issue #4)
added: 07-03-2007
With Of Entropy and Life Denial comes a second blasphemous procreation from French black metal band Merrimack. Despite the commercialization of metal these days, Merrimack manages to lurk past their contemporaries and take the dark incantation off the tongues of men and embody it. The result is a manifestation of disdain and ideological malevolence... more>

HYPOCRISY
(From Issue #4)
added: 07-03-2007
Peter Tatgren is one of the most well-know names in metal, or music, for that matter. Founder of Hypocrisy, Pain and master producer and engineer, there are few areas of metal he is not a master of. Here is my interview with him from a recent show in Oakland, California... more> |
